With 50 years of experience in fur repairs, Furs of Mayfair are capable of repairing anything from a small tear to an extensive fur alteration or remodel and all work is carried out on site.

Fur damage can happen to new or old fur with the most common fur repair being a small tear or rip.  It is essential to repair any tears, rips or loose seams before the damage becomes more extensive and preventing more costly problems.  If you have a loose hook or ring closures, attend to them in a timely manner as you will stop undue stress on the fur, reducing the possibility of tearing. 

Repairing fur garments is not like mending cloth so it is important to use an experienced furrier to repair your garment properly.  During our professional repair, the interior lining of the garment is delicately undone and repairs are made on the inside using specialised machines and needles and the lining restitched with matching thread.  We will reinforce repairs using the appropriate leather to prevent the problem reoccurring as you want a repair that is going to last, but always ensuring that no repairs will be visible when you are wearing your item.

We always provide a free quotation before commencing and most repairs are relatively inexpensive.  We will provide you with a written receipt for your garment detailing the repair.  We carry out all repairs in a timely and professional manner.

If you take advantage of our cold storage service, annual inspections and small repairs are free of charge.  We repair loose buttons and closures and ensure that a small seam opening in your lining is repaired so it does not lead to a tear and the need for complete lining replacement.
